If I had to define LaFrikilería in a tweet, I would say that it is a site where you can find Original Gifts, unspeakable fantasies and collectibles for classy Geeks.
In LaFrikilería you can find all kinds of things related to the world of Film, Tv Series, video Games, Superheroes, Manga, or...things simply unclassifiable. We have clothes, accessories, cosplay, decor items, kitchen and house things, jewelry, stuffed animals, games and a long list of things that sometimes don't have an obvious utility, but it sure ends up being a memorable gift for someone.
I like to think that it is a store where everyone can find something that they like and also have a good time. Here we do not judge anyone by their level of geekness. Many of my clients know a lot more than I do about some of the things I sell and others come simply because my shop looks like fun... or because they want to explore the geek side we all have within.
In my store you can touch everything. You can try on the hat selector of Harry Potter, then a coat of Jon Snow of Game of Thrones, unsheathe Darth Vader's laser sable, play marbles with the Dragon Balls and leave without buying anything. If you've had a good time the goal has been met.
This is a personal project that started in September 2014, which is making me get work as a lioness, and I hope it lasts a long time because, in addition to it, I am having a great time. And, as all personal projects, I guess it is determined by the personality, tastes, and circumstances of the person who undertakes it. In this case, LaFrikilería is the project of Beatriz: a common young woman with pink hair, geek since I was little, dreamer, clueless to the absolute limits, illustrator and graphic designer.
And I guess I have brought all those features to LaFrikilería. Good taste is always present in my shop. I think being a little nerdy is not incompatible with having artistic sensitivity. I do not bring to the store nothing I wouldn't try and I strive to take good pictures of things so that everybody can watch them in the social networks.
Oh, and I also do not forget us, the girls. I've been a geek all my life and I know how hard it is to find specific things for girls at the fairs and in traditional stores. Girls: in LaFrikileria you have things to tutiplén (and this is also a warning to the guys who never know what to buy to us, hehe).
This is the essence of my shop since I started it and I hope it keeps the same now that we have grown and we have already shipped more than 100,000 orders in green packages to your homes. If you ever observe that we're getting off of this idea, please tell me straight <3
